Orbit bus hits school bus, narrow escape for children

Over 20 students of a private school had a narrow escape while returning home when a bus of Orbit company hit their school bus near here today. Some of the students suffered minor injuries in the incident.

According to information, students of Punjab National Public School, Behrampur Zimindara, were returning after school hours around 2 pm when a bus of the Orbit company coming from the Jalandhar side hit their vehicle from rear near Chaklan village.

Due to the collision, the driver of the school bus lost control over the vehicle and it rammed into a roadside tree.

School bus driver Balwinder Singh said 25 children were in the bus at that time. The crew of Orbit bus fled the spot after the incident.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gurvinder Singh said both buses had been taken into possession by the police.

Action would be initiated against the accused bus crew after receiving a complaint in that regard, the Deputy Superintendent of Police said.
