The state Jail Department will shift the arrested gangsters from one jail to another at regular intervals to ensure that they don’t form a nexus.

Jail Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said this while chairing a meeting of the top brass of the jail department here today.

Around 20 hardcore gang leaders and nearly 200 members of different gangs are lodged in the state jails. Earlier, the Jail Department used to keep gangsters in specially secured separate cells within the jail premises.
