Muktsar, September 10

The members of two communities who had engaged into a bloody brawl on September 6 over the carcass disposal point made in shamlat land at Husnar village in Gidderbaha on Tuesday amicably resolved the issue.

They decided to convert a dharmshala in the village into Baba Jivan Singh Gurdwara and the place where a new gurdwara was being built will now be a dharmshala. Besides, they decided to construct a boundary wall of the carcass disposal point and cover it with a shed.

Darshan Singh, sarpanch of Husnar village, and Gurcharan Singh, a representative of the Dalits, signed a pact on this issue. Notably, some religious leaders and a member of the Punjab State Scheduled Caste Commission too had appealed to the members of both the communities to sit and resolve the issue. The police and officials of the civil administration too remained present in the meeting held between the members of the two communities on Tuesday.
