Takhtupura (Moga), January 15
Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, the Communist Party of India (CPI) has asserted that the BJP is trying to divide the people on communal lines for vested political interests ahead of the 2019 General Elections.
Addressing a public gathering at Takhtupura in Moga district on Tuesday, Comrade Jagroop Singh, member of the national council of the party, said, “It is high time for the people of the country to understand the divisive policies of the BJP being dictated by the RSS. People must cast their votes with their conscience in the interest of the nation to strengthen the secular nature of the country.”
He criticised the union government for suppressing the voice of the common people and the intelligentsia, particularly the media, referring to the recent arrests of some writers and killings of a few journalist in the country.
The CPI leader also lashed out at Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for failing to fulfill the promises made during the Assembly elections.
