Model anganwari centre inaugurated in Barnala

Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today inaugurated a Model Anganwari Centre at Sohal Patti village in Barnala district.

Two other such centres are coming up at Thikriwal and Moom villages of the district. In these new centres, children will get all facilities on a par with those provided at private crèches or schools. These new centres will have interactive classrooms equipped with all kinds of audio-visual aids for children, beautiful wall paintings, children-friendly toilets, good-quality furniture, swings, besides other amenities that are beneficial for the children.

“All funds for this project have been generated through Corporate Social Responsibility and funds of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme have been utilised for the new project,” said the DC.

He said he had directed Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) to prepare a detailed plan so that such Model Anganwaris are developed in all villages of the district.
