Mann reiterates party’s demand for Khalistan

Anandpur Sahib, March 5

The SAD (Amritsar) today raised the issue of Khalistan and demanded the release of terrorist Jagtar Singh Tara.

Addressing a gathering here, SAD (A) president Simranjit Singh Mann alleged that Tara was being implicated in false cases.

Mann also criticised the move to operate international flights from the Chandigarh airport. He alleged the step, okayed by Punjab as well as Centre, had resulted in the grounding of international flights from the Amritsar airport. “This is injustice to the people living in Majha,” he said. He also demanded that the control of dams built on rivers in Punjab be handed over to the United Nations Organisation. He also sought an amendment to the Constitution to ensure protection of the interests of the Sikh community. — TNS
