Chandigarh, October 17

Leader of the Opposition Sukhpal Khaira today reiterated his demand for a CBI inquiry into Rana Gurjit Singh’s alleged role in the sand mining auctions, adding that the minister should be dropped from the Cabinet.

“I was appalled to hear Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Sing’s lame defence of the tainted minister that there’s nothing wrong in taking a loan from someone. It’s not about taking a mere loan. The minister pumped whopping Rs4.52 crore to bag the auction,” he said. — TNS
