Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Tuesday withdrew his resignation as MLA from the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

Meanwhile, sources in the Aam Aadmi Party have denied a thaw in relations with Khaira.

Last week, Master Baldev Singh, who, along with Khaira, had rebelled from the AAP, and had contested the general election from Faridkot earlier this year, had come back to the party fold.

Both Khaira and Baldev Singh had contested the election in May on the Punjabi Ekta Party tickets.

Khaira had contested the poll from Bathinda, where he was a distant third.

Talking to The Tribune, Khaira said he had withdrawn his resignation as he had decided to fight out his disqualification by the AAP. “Why should I leave my membership for Kejriwal and Company? They removed me undemocratically as leader of opposition; no suspension orders were served. Why should I break the trust of voters of Bholath, who sent me to the Assembly? They want me to continue and I am continuing as MLA,” he said.
