The Punjab Government today gave appointment letters to 254 junior engineers (JEs) of the Irrigation Department as a “Diwali gift”.

Irrigation and Power Minister Rana Gurjit Singh said here today that the approval to appoint these 254 JEs in the Irrigation Department was given today in a hurry on the instructions of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to ensure a happy Diwali for all these young people. He added that the government was committed to fill all desired vacancies of the Irrigation Department on priority, besides upgrading its infrastructure to increase its efficiency.

Reiterating the commitment of providing employment opportunities to the youth, Rana Gurjit Singh said the state government under the leadership of Capt Amarinder Singh was fully committed to fulfil every commitment made during the Vidhan Sabha elections.
