Jail inmates sodomise youth, videograph act

PATIALA: The police have booked three jail inmates for allegedly sodomising a 20-year-old inmate and filming the entire act on a mobile phone at the Central Jail, Patiala.

The police have booked three jail inmates for allegedly sodomising a 20-year-old inmate and filming the entire act on a mobile phone at the Central Jail, Patiala. The matter came to the fore when the victim reported the incident to jail officials on Saturday.

The victim has been admitted to Government Rajindra Hospital. The accused have been identified as Gurinder Singh, Vijay Kumar and Dalvir Singh.

The jail officials said accused Gurinder Singh and Dalvir Singh were undertrials, while Vijay Kumar was a convicted prisoner. According to the victim, Gurinder Singh forcefully took him to washroom where Vijay Kumar was also present and sexually abused him while Dalvir Singh videographed it on a mobile phone last Thursday. The victim told the police that they threatened him to make the clip viral.

The victim told the police that he was earlier also sexually abused on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday by Gurinder Singh. The police have booked the accused under Sections 377, 384, 506 and 34 of the IPC. The jail officials denied any extortion angle.

Patiala Central Jail Superintendent Bhupinderjit Singh Virk said, “After we got a complaint, we called the police. As of now, there is no report of any extortion by the accused”.
