In Abohar, 8 injured in road accidents

Government school teachers Manish and Manjit Singh and latter’s daughter Mandeep Kaur (15) were hurt as the car they were travelling in to go to Dalmirkhera village collided with another vehicle due to dense fog on Thursday. Visibility was reduced to less than 10 m on the city bypass here. The trio was shifted to the civil hospital, but doctors later referred the girl to Faridkot.

Businessman Naresh Singla (41) was hurt as the car he was travelling in collided with a truck due to thick fog near a brick-kiln located outside Kheruwala village on the Abohar-Sadulshehar road on Thursday. He was shifted to the civil hospital in Sadulshehar.

In another mishap, a private school van that was on the way to pick up students from rural area rammed into a canter after colliding with a Lok Sewa Parivahan bus on the Padampur road near Sriganganagar. The driver escaped with minor injuries even as iron rods loaded onto the canter pierced the windshield of the van.

In another case, three college students were hurt as a tempo they were travelling in collided with a truck due to poor visibility near Jorawarpur village in Hanumangarh. They were shifted to a government hospital. — OC
