Heroin, SIM card found in Ropar jail

ROPAR: A SIM card and 4.5 gm heroin was recovered during a search operation conducted under the supervision of District and Sessions Judge Balwinder Singh Sandhu at the district jail here today.

A SIM card and 4.5 gm heroin was recovered during a search operation conducted under the supervision of District and Sessions Judge Balwinder Singh Sandhu at the district jail here today. The SIM card was found lying outside a barrack of women inmates. Later, a tennis ball was found lying near the boundary wall of the jail in which 4.5-gm heroin was concealed.

Finding many inmates having television sets and LCDs and some even cooking food separately, the judge asked the jail officials to explain under what rules these facilities were being availed by them.
