Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) ad hoc president Jagdish Singh Jhinda on Saturday announced the formation of Janata Dal Akali (JDA) party after performing prayers at the Akal Takht.

He said this political outfit is “by the people, for the people and of the people”.

Unlike other Akali Dals, which he termed as being based on lies and being directionless, the JDA will fight for the “real cause” of the common people, he said.

It will open its account with the upcoming Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls, and aim to mark its presence in other states such as Punjab and Haryana.
