Gounder ‘active’ on FB, cops on trail

Noted gangster Harjinder Singh alias Vicky Gounder, who has been evading arrest since his escape from the Nabha jail in November 2016, has been regularly updating his feed on Facebook.

He openly challenged his enemies by posting two text messages, a video and a picture on his Facebook account in the last two days.

While other five criminals who had escaped with him from the Nabha jail have been nabbed, Gounder is absconding. He was recently booked by the Gurdaspur police in a case of triple murder.

He has uploaded a video of a Punjabi web news channel where he is seen threatening someone with dire consequences. Around 500 persons have liked this post and 6,900 have watched the video.

In another post, Gounder uploaded a grab of a TV news channel, which shows that an enemy of the Gounder gang has been killed.

Hardayal Singh Maan, Additional Inspector General, Cyber Crime Cell, said: “We are tracking the activities of gangsters on the social media. Many of them have been arrested after they were traced via their online activities.”
