Jalandhar, April 25

After the AAP’s Mansa MLA Nazar Singh Manshahia’s shift to the Congress today, the AAP is about to get another major setback in the Doaba region.

Sajjan Singh Cheema, AAP’s Sultanpur Lodhi candidate for the 2017 Assembly elections, is all set to join the SAD. Cheema will join the SAD at Sultanpur Lodhi in the presence of party president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday.

Cheema said, “Seeing the situation of the party in the state, I don’t know how they are going to ask for votes. Without any consideration for its own cadres, the party has given ticket to a member of a Congress family, Harbans Kaur Dullo, wife of Congress MP Shamsher Singh Dullo, in Fatehgarh Sahib. The breakaway group of Khaira has also caused the party to lose cadres. Earlier Bains Brothers left the party and then Sukhpal Khaira. The party has been divided into three groups which is detrimental to every group.” Cheema said he would join the SAD with hundreds of his local volunteers.
