The families of three firemen, who are still trapped under the rubble, have been camping at the site for the past three days. Parkash Singh, father of fireman Sukhdev Singh (37) of Gadhapur Rahon road, is early waiting for any news of his son.

Sukhdev’s brother said: “We have been camping here since Monday morning. I wish my brother is recovered alive.”

Another fireman Manpreet Singh’s friend said both his parents were bed-ridden. “They are putting up at the Civil Hospital waiting for the arrival of Manpreet, dead or alive,” he said. Manpreet (24), a resident of Seera village, has three daughters. He was the lone bread winner for the family.

Similarly, the inconsolable family of leading fireman Manohar Lal has been camping at the site.
