Patiala, October 14

A Bathinda-based drug peddler, Shubham Bansal, has accused Delhi cops of taking Rs 2 lakh as bribe from him and illegally confining him in Delhi recently. He said he somehow "managed to escape from Delhi cops' clutches."

Shubham, alias Rahul, was arrested along with four accomplices — Karamjit Singh, Amandeep Singh, Manjit Kaur and Shinda Singh in Rajpura.

Sources said initial interrogation of Shubham revealed that he used to supply drugs to peddlers in Punjab. He had gone to Delhi two days ago to buy heroin from his African link where he was caught. Patiala SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu said," Only after quizzing him, we will be able to comment on his claims.” — TNS
