Court discharges Shiv Sena leader in fake attack case

MOHALI: The court of the National Investigating Agency (NIA) in Mohali today discharged Shiv Sena Punjab (Ghanauli group) youth leader Amit Arora in case of faking attack on himself.

The court of the National Investigating Agency (NIA) in Mohali today discharged Shiv Sena Punjab (Ghanauli group) youth leader Amit Arora in case of faking attack on himself.

The court also discharged other seven accused, Samar D’Souza, Anurag Pandit, Bharti Sandhu, Om Parkash, Sumit Kumar, Shaka and Amrish Puri in the case.

The NIA had filed its chargesheet in the case on February 27. According to sources, the NIA did not find any evidence of faking the attack by Arora.

A case in this connection was registered under Sections 420, 417, 177, 193, 120-B and 34 of the IPC and Section 25 of the Arms Act. Arora was arrested three years ago in the case. Earlier, he had alleged that he was shot in the neck by two motorcycle-borne attackers at Basti Jodhwal chowk in Ludhiana under target killings in the state. The case was handed over to the NIA in 2017.
