Muktsar: A local court on Wednesday sent the six accused, including the Congress councillor, arrested in the woman thrashing case to 14-day judicial custody. Councillor Rakesh Chaudhary, his brothers Roop Lal, Suresh and Sunny and nephews Shekhu and Jambo were earlier in police custody. Their police remand had ended on Wednesday. Besides, Guddi (Rakesh’s mother) is already in 14-day judicial custody. Those yet to be arrested are Hasan (son of Sunny), Renu (wife of Sunny) and Jyoti (wife of Rakesh). The incident’s video had gone viral on the social media wherein some youngsters were seen dragging Meena Rani out of her residence and thrashing her for not repaying the loan amount on June 14. TNS
