Congress posts thumping victory in Talwandi Sabo MC election

TALWANDI SABO: The Congress on Sunday grabbed Talwandi Sabo Municipal Council with a thumping majority as it won in 13 of the total 15 wards, while SAD and an Independent won in one ward each.

The Congress on Sunday grabbed Talwandi Sabo Municipal Council with a thumping majority as it won in 13 of the total 15 wards, while SAD and an Independent won in one ward each.

Surprisingly, Talwandi Sabo Assembly segment is represent by AAP MLA Baljinder Kaur, but it failed to win any of the four wards it contested.

While the BJP which contested in two wards also failed to register a win.

Voting in 14 wards was held today as earlier Congress candidate from ward number 2, Gurpreet Singh, had won unopposed.

Congress candidates Guljinder Kaur has won from ward number 1, Gurmeet Kaur won from ward number 3, Aziz Khan won from ward number 4, Angrej Kaur won from ward number 5, Lakhbir Singh won from ward number 6,
Karamjit Singh won from ward number 7, Manga Singh won from ward number 8, Anjana Rani won from ward number 9, Harbans Singh won from ward 11, Santosh Rani won from ward number 12, Balkar Singh won from
ward 13 and Gurtinder Singh Rimpy won from ward number 15.

While the lone SAD candidate, Shivinder Kaur Chatha, won from ward number 14 and Independent candidate Satinderpal Singh has won from ward number 10.

It is pertinent to mention that earlier SAD was ruling at Talwandi Sabo Municipal Council and in last election SAD had won in 14 wards and Congress was able to win in one ward only.
