The arrest of Shahid Malla, who is believed to be a part of a group of website hackers targeting websites of India, by the cyber cell of the Delhi Police special cell has come as a shocker to the officials of Aryans College of Engineering.

They say they were absolutely clueless of his involvement in any such activities as they had official confirmation of his character and antecedents by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Jammu and Kashmir Government.

As per information, Shahid Malla was a fourth semester computer science engineering student of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura.

He was the CEO and founder of “thehostz” since 2011. In this FB account, he has flaunted hacking many websites.

BS Sidhu, Director, Aryans College of Engineering, said the student has not been coming for his classes since the past few months.

“His arrest in such a case is equally shocking for us because as a routine exercise every year we send the detailed data of all Jammu Kashmir students to the JK Police for verification. We had received a letter from Criminal Investigation Department of Jammu and Kashmir Government confirming that Shahid had not come to any adverse notice so far,” he said.

He says he had been informed that Shahid had been staying in Kashmir only since past few months and had returned to Rajpura just few weeks back. However, he did not attend the college.

Meanwhile, DSP, Rajpura, Krishan Kumar Panthey when contacted confirmed that the Delhi team had officially informed the local police that they were in Rajpura for investigations in the case and have arrested Malla and were taking him to Delhi.
