Chandigarh, December 7

Taking note of media reports alleging nexus of some politicians and gangsters in the state, CM Capt Amarinder Singh ordered an inquiry into the matter, promising stern action against anyone found guilty, while expressing confidence in his colleagues.

He directed DGP Dinkar Gupta to probe the allegations as made out from the documents/photos that have been submitted to him.

The photographs showed a notorious criminal, who had many cases against him and had links with a known gangster, and top politicians, said an official spokesperson. Capt Amarinder made it clear that “no one encouraging unlawful activities in the state will be spared and stern action shall be taken”.

“I have no doubt that none of my colleagues is involved in any such nefarious activities,” the CMsaid. — TNS
