The Muktsar administration started project “Disha” for imparting career guidance to students on Wednesday. A team of scientists from the Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh, went to the District Red Cross Complex and informed students and teachers about job opportunities and career in the science group.

The team also motivated students to opt for science for their higher studies. MK Aravind Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Muktsar, said the project had been started to give guidance to students, especially who are in Classes X, XI and XII, so that they can rightly choose their future education. Meanwhile, Virpal Kaur, Assistant Commissioner (General), Muktsar, said, “The students will be able to know that they can not just become doctors or engineers from the science subject, but there are plenty of other courses and jobs available in this field.”
