The Punjab Vidhan Sabha was adjourned for the day on Friday as the House decided to mourn the terrorist attack in Kashmir on Thursday.

Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh moved a resolution to this effect.

After adjournment of the House, Amarinder warned Pakistan Army Chief General Bajwa saying India was capable of giving a befitting reply to the terror attack.

At the same time, the Chief Minister hoped that the attack would not hamper the ongoing talks on the Kartarpur corridor.

Amarinder said the families of the terror victims would be given compensation as per the rules. He said four CRPF jawans from Punjab had been identified so far among the dead.

Earlier, the issue to adjourn the House was raised by SAD MLA Bikram Majithia before the House started its session with Question Hour.

Minister for Local Government Navjot Singh Sidhu said, “I agree with Bikram Majithia. The session should be adjourned.”

Majithia said, “We need to condemn Pakistan, ISI and Imran Khan in the strongest words.”

Meanwhile, the Business Advisory Committee decided to extend the session by another day. Earlier, the session was to end on February 22. February 23 and 24 being holidays, the session would now end on February 25.
