Head priest unveils book on ex-DGP

Amritsar: Golden Temple head priest Gaini Jagtar Singh released a book on the life of former DGP KPS Gill titled "The Butcher of Punjab" authored by Dal Khalsa leader Sarbjit Singh Ghuman at Akal Takht on Tuesday. The book with 352 pages has the list of police officers allegedly responsible for human rights violations. It has stories of forced disappearance during the militancy period. TNS

Woman, son ‘thrashed’ by cops 

Fazilka: Reshma Rani and her son Saurav (17), residents of the Radha Swami Colony, were “thrashed” by the police here on Tuesday. They have been admitted to the Civil Hospital. Reshma’s husband Sunil Kumar, who was taken into police custody and was released later on Tuesday, alleged the police thrashed him, his wife and son and took him with them. However, DSP Vaibhav Sehgal denied the allegations. OC
