Ropar: Two accused of attacking AAP MLA Amarjit Singh Sandoa were granted bail by District and Sessions Judge BS Sandhu here on Wednesday. Sandoa was allegedly attacked for stopping ‘illegal’ mining. Advocate HS Paul, counsel for accused Davinder Singh and Mohan Singh, contended that in the videos of crime scene, no arms were used by his clients. Though the prosecution claimed that arms were recovered from the vehicles of the accused, these were found to be legal weapons, it was argued. Moreover, no one suffered serious injury in the incident so the police wrongly booked them for attempt to murder, said the counsel. Following this, the duo were granted bail by the court. TNS
