A day after boycotting an all-party meeting of MPs over Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s absence, senior Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa today reiterated that he had written to party vice-president Rahul Gandhi, offering to resign from his Rajya Sabha seat in protest against the state government’s inaction in cases against top Akali leaders.

The former PPCC chief told The Tribune that he had conveyed his angst to the party high command and was awaiting a response.

“I am peeved at the non-initiation of probe and action in cases of institutional corruption such as transport and cable scam involving former Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal, drug trafficking case involving Bikram Singh Majithia, pesticide and spurious seed scam against Tota Singh and food scam against Adaish Partap Singh Kairon. Ahead of the elections, we had promised voters action in such cases. But nothing has been done in this direction so far,” Bajwa alleged.

He said he would wait for Rahul’s response to his letter before deciding on the future course of action.
