Attack on singer: Ferozepur BTech student arrested

MOHALI: In the case of attack on Punjabi singer Parmish Verma, the Mohali Police have arrested a 19-year-old BTech student, who was handling the Facebook account of gangster Dilpreet Singh Dhahan and others to issue threats for extortion.

In the case of attack on Punjabi singer Parmish Verma, the Mohali Police have arrested a 19-year-old BTech student, who was handling the Facebook account of gangster Dilpreet Singh Dhahan and others to issue threats for extortion.

The accused identified as Kuldip Singh from Sultanwala village, Ferozepur, was nabbed from near Dara Studio Chowk at Phase 6 here.

Mohali SSPKuldeep Singh Chahal said Kuldip Singh, who was studying in a college at Ferozepur, was in touch with Dhahan and other gangsters.

“He used to handle the social networking sites, laptops and mobile phones of these gangsters to issue threats to rich people for extortion. He is a computer expert,” said Chahal. The gangsters used to pay Kuldip for his services.

“After Parmish was shot at, Kuldip Singh handled Dhahan’s Facebook account to issue threats to the singer.

The SSP said some other students of different schools and colleges were also reportedly involved with Kuldip Singh in this illegal act. The police have registered a case under Sections 384, 511 and 506 of the IPC and Section 66 of the IT Act against Kuldip Singh. — TNS
