ASI among 3 booked for firing at farmers

MUKTSAR: The Gidderbaha police today booked an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), along with his brother and nephew, for allegedly injuring three farmers of Husnar village by opening fire over a water dispute last evening.

The Gidderbaha police today booked an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), along with his brother and nephew, for allegedly injuring three farmers of Husnar village by opening fire over a water dispute last evening.

Kuldeep Singh, a farmer of Husnar village, has alleged in his statement to the police that ASI Amrik Singh, his brother Angrej Singh, nephew Kuldeep Singh and some others, all residents of neighbouring Babanian village, opened fire on them last evening when they tried to stop them from illegally getting water from the minor.

A case has been registered under Sections 307, 323, 324, 148, 149 of the IPC and 25, 27 of the Arms Act.

The injured Kuldeep Singh, Resham Singh and Harcharan Singh are undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital, Bathinda.
