Chandigarh, February 14

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLAs protested against the Speaker for not allowing the adjournment motion on the government’s failure to give Rs 10 lakh compensation and a job to the families of farmers who committed suicide.

Led by leaders Bikram Majithia and Parminder Dhindsa, the Akalis said despite moving the adjournment motion last evening, it had not been taken up.

In reply, Speaker Rana KP Singh, while rejecting the adjournment motion, said it had not been moved on time and had to be given to the secretary. The SAD again moved the adjournment motion for Friday.
