Akalis ‘beat up’ Cong leader in Dharamkot

Senior Congress leader and president of the Dharamkot Municipal Council Inderpreet Singh Bunty was allegedly beaten up by Youth Akali Dal leader Harpreet Singh, alias Ricky, and his aides at Dharamkot town today.

Bunty, a close associate of Congress MLA from Dharamkot Kaka Sukhjit Singh Lohgarh, was in a car along with one of his associates when Ricky and his associates allegedly pulled him out and thrashed him. His turban was removed and taken away by Ricky and his associates.

Bunty told TNSthat he had reported the incident to the police. The police had begun investigations into the incident. However, the FIR was not registered till the filing of the news report.

Ricky alleged that after the morning incident Bunty and his supporters damaged his shop and attacked him. He is running a tent house in the Dharamkot town. He has also reported this incident to the local police.

Bunty and Ricky had personal enmity. During the last Assembly elections, Bunty had reportedly thrashed Ricky. Recently, Ricky’s wife was defeated by Bunty’s supporter in the MC polls.
