AAP MLA Baljinder Kaur to contest from Bathinda, Manjinder Khadoor Sahib

CHANDIGARH: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday announced Baljinder Kaur as its candidate from Bathinda for the general election. Kaur is the party MLA from Talwandi Sabo and is also chief of the party''s women''s wing in the state.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday announced Baljinder Kaur as its Lok Sabha candidate from Bathinda for the general election.

Kaur is the party MLA from Talwandi Sabo and is also chief of the party's women's wing in the state.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters here, the AAP announced that Kaur would contest the 2019 Lok Sabha election on an AAP ticket from Bathinda.

Born and brought up at Jaggaram Tirath village in Talwandi Sabo, Kaur recently married Sukhraj Singh Bal, also an AAP leader and its Majha youth wing president.

An M Phil in English literature, Kaur had a brief stint as a teacher at Fatehgarh Sahib before joining the party,

Kaur contested from the Talwandi Sabo Assembly constituency on an AAP ticket in 2017 and won the seat by 14,000 votes.

Kaur will take on rebel AAP leader and Progressive Democratic Alliance candidate Sukhpal Khaira.

Meanwhile, the AAP has fielded youth wing leader Manjinder Sidhu from Khadoor Sahib seat.
