The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today launched a series of rallies of farmers and farm labourers in the state to “expose” the Congress government.

Reminding Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh of his promise of a complete farm loan waiver, Leader of Opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira said the Congress and its leaders were accused of not keeping their promises.

For breach of these promises, the farmers in the state were dejected and committing suicide. In the last six months, 205 farmers had committed suicide, but the state was downplaying the crisis with fudged figures and statistics, he alleged.

In the rallies that began today, the party would expose the Congress over the false promises it made the voters in the run up to the Assembly elections, said Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The Congress and Akalis had a common agenda to befool the people, plunder the state and push more and more youth into drug dragnet, alleged Khaira.

On mining auction row, he said the commission had submitted its report on August 10, but no action had been taken so far.
