Seven persons were injured in a clash between two factions at a religious fair in which hundreds of Lubana Sikhs participated in Kauni village on Wednesday.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the reason behind the clash was a two-year-old case of a woman’s abduction, the police said. Those injured were Ajit Singh Lubana, Bhupinder Singh, Gurjant Singh, Amarjit Singh, Gurwinder Singh of one faction and Gurdeep Singh Lubana and Sandeep Singh of the other faction. Two cases have been registered. — OC
