6 booked for attack on Fazilka doctor

Anurag Kamboj and five unidentified persons have been booked for allegedly assaulting Homeopathic Medical Officer, Dr Kunal Kirti Malik, in Fazilka on February 1.

The accused have been booked under Sections 324, 353, 186, 427, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC. Dr Malik, who is posted in the District Hospital, Fazilka, alleged that Kamboj and five unidentified persons had assaulted him at Government Homeopathic Dispensary at Nai Abadi in Fazilka town with sharp-edged weapons and tried to prevent him from discharging his duty.

Dispute between Dr Malik and his subordinate woman pharmacist Poonam Kamboj is said be behind the assault. Poonam is elder sister of Anurag Kamboj, a former aide of slain gangster Jaswinder Singh Rocky.
