4 cops suspended for framing Bathinda man in NDPS case

BATHINDA: The district police today suspended its four officials — CIA Staff 1 incharge Inspector Amritpal Singh Bhatti, ASI Ravi and constables Gurpal Singh and Kulwinder Singh — over the allegation of falsely implicating a person in an NDPS case.

The district police today suspended its four officials — CIA Staff 1 incharge Inspector Amritpal Singh Bhatti, ASI Ravi and constables Gurpal Singh and Kulwinder Singh — over the allegation of falsely implicating a person in an NDPS case.

On July 8, the CIA police had booked Kuldeep Singh, Ranjit Singh and Supreme Singh of Jangirana village in the district under the NDPS Act and claimed of have seized 50 gram of heroin from their possession.

Later, family members of accused Kuldeep Singh lodged a complaint with IGP, Bathinda Range, MF Farooqui, claiming that Kuldeep had been wrongly framed in the case.

SSP Dr Nanak Singh said, “We have suspended four police officials on the allegation of wrongly implicating a person in the case”. He said the action had been taken on the allegations and a thorough probe would be conducted into the matter.
