3 youths washed away in Beas

Three of the five youths, who had gone to take a dip in the Beas, were reportedly drowned near Kishanpur Pattan village falling under Bhaini Mian Khan police station on Wednesday. 

The youths were identified as Lovedeep Singh, Sukhjinder Singh and Jobanjeet Singh, all of Balwanda, Simranjeet Singh and Gurvinder Singh of Raju Bela.

Sukhjinder and Jobanjeet Singh were rescued. The body of Lovedeep has been found by divers roped in 

by the Gurdaspur police. The remaining two were feared drowned. 

Deputy Commissioner Gurlovleen Singh Sidhu sent a team of senior officers to the spot. A team of divers from the PAP, Jalandhar, too, reached the spot. However, they will start rescue operations in the morning on Thursday. Further probe is on.
