Abohar, February 13

The police here on Wednesday arrested three persons for killing a watchman on October 28, 2018. As no clue was found in the past, SSP Dr Ketan Baliram Patil had assigned the investigation to the Sadar police incharge, Sanjiv Setia.

The new SHO nabbed Gopal, Rinku Walia and Harpreet Singh under Sections 302 and 450 of the IPC. They are residents of Burjmuhar Colony that is located opposite Avon Marbles on the Abohar-Fazilka highway where Maharaj Bali was killed. Investigation had reportedly indicated that the trio had scaled the boundary wall of the factory at night with the aim of burglary.

As the watchman confronted them, they used a hammer and other available tools to kill him and decamped with money. His body was found outside the office. — OC
