The wife of a Dalit farm worker was allegedly gang-raped by a landlord’s son and his two accomplices after holding her husband captive last night in a village near Hanumangarh.

She alleged in her complaint to the police today that the trio entered her room at a farmhouse in Arayianwala village last night and forced her husband to consume liquor.

Later, they held him captive in an adjoining room and raped her.

The police said an FIR under Section 376D of the IPC and SC/ST Act has been registered against Mohinder, Ravi and Ram Singh.

Accused on the run

In another case, a 22-year-old woman alleged in her complaint to the police in Sriganganagar that one Vijay Kumar had raped her about two years back. He had threatened her with dire consequences if the matter was reported to the police.

After that, he has been blackmailing her to maintain a physical relationship with him, she alleged.

The police have registered an FIR under Section 376 IPC but Vijay was not at home when the police conducted the raid.
