2 men shoot dead former Beas sarpanch on his way to attend court hearing

AMRITSAR: A former sarpanch of Kammoke village in Beas in this district was shot dead by two men on a motorcycle on Thursday. He was going to court for a hearing.

A former sarpanch of Kammoke village in Beas in this district was shot dead by two men on a motorcycle on Thursday.

Manmohan Singh was reportedly going to court for hearing in a case when the accused intercepted him and pumped four bullets into him. He died on the spot while the accused fled the scene.

Police officials reached the spot and launched an investigation.

According to information, Manmohan was a witness in a case registered against one Lakha of the same village.  

SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal said the investigation was in the preliminary stage.
