2 detained illegally released

LUDHIANA: Two residents of Kotla Shahia village in Batala were allegedly kept in illegal custody at Moti Nagar police station in Ludhiana.

Two residents of Kotla Shahia village in Batala were allegedly kept in illegal custody at Moti Nagar police station in Ludhiana. The matter was brought to the notice of Ludhiana Police Commissioner Sukhchain Singh Gill by Cabinet minister Tript Rajinder Bajwa.

Following this, the officer reached the police station this afternoon and freed the duo, identified as Kuldeep Singh and Hajura Singh.

Gill later wrote to the headquarters, recommending action against ADCP IV Pirthipal Singh.

DGP Dinkar Gupta said he had sought a report. —TNS
