Vini Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce, emphasised on ensuring quality standards in order to make a global recognition.

She was speaking during the inaugural session at the Regional Quality Conclave on excellence through smart manufacturing organised by the PHDCCI in association with Quality Council India.

Over 200 manufacturer delegates from five northern states discussed issues and challenges concerning quality control. Emphasising on state's industrial growth, Vini said after the success of 'Make in India', the state government was also striving for the 'Make in Punjab' keeping the quality control and its standards. Many Taiwanese and Japanese companies are foraying into Punjab market who expects the best of quality from local manufacturers.
