A sales manager of pizza major Domino’s was allegedly abducted, thrashed and robbed of cash, laptop and a mobile phone by a gang of cab robbers at Sohna.

The victim claimed that he was picked up from Sohna, thrashed and held hostage the entire night. The robbers took away his belongings and withdrew cash through his ATM card. Then, he was allegedly dumped on the Punhana-Hodal road. An FIR has been registered at Sohna City police station, but the police have no clue so far about the robbers.

According to the complaint filed by Satpal Singh, a resident of Shekhpura village in Palwal district, the incident happened on Thursday night.

On his return from Alwar that night, he was waiting for a ride at Ambedkar Chowk, Sohna. Around 9.30 pm, a car arrived there. He sought a ride till Palwal and the driver agreed. Two other men were sitting in the car and he thought they were commuters like him.

“After 5-7 minutes, the two men attacked me. I was tied up and held at gunpoint. I tried to scream but they stuffed a cloth in my mouth and blindfolded me.

“They snatched my mobile phone, laptop and wallet. They then took me to a forest area where they forcibly took my PIN. Two men waited with me while the third one went to an ATM. They thrashed and dumped me. I somehow removed my blindfold and realised I was on the Punhana-Hodal road. I went to a hospital for treatment,” the victim told the police. — TNS
