Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, organised a solo sufi singing competition under the aegis of Sahodaya Schools Complex (Central Zone). The competition witnessed participation from more than 16 teams of various schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The whole atmosphere echoed with melodious tunes of inspirational songs. The young maestros sang to their level best and made the competition a great success. The judges, Harpreet Kaur and Sargam, professors at the department of music of Arya College, were impressed with the confidence, tonal quality and fervour with which participants sang. First prize was grabbed by Arshjot Singh Dhillon, student of Class XI at GRD Academy, Ludhiana. Yuvraj Babbar, a Class IX student at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass, was declared the first runner-up. The second runner-up trophy was secured by two participants, Tashmeen Kaur, a student of KVM, Civil Lines, and Inderpal Singh from Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town. An appreciation award was also given to Mehak Nagpal from Green Land Convent School, Sector-32, Chandigarh Road. TNS
