Man held with 230-gm heroin

The Special Task Force wing of the Ludhiana police arrested a drug smuggler and recovered 230-gram heroin from him. The police have also seized his car.

The accused has been identified as Kulwinder Singh Babbu (22) of Bani village, Sirsa, Haryana.

Special Task Force in-charge Harbans Singh in a statement issued said a tip-off was received that a person had to deliver a huge consignment of heroin to his clients and he had parked his car in an empty plot at Hussainpura village.

The STF party immediately conducted a raid and after intercepting the car, it was cornered, which led to the arrest of the smuggler.

During questioning, the accused said he owns a readymade garment shop at Bani village and started the notorious trade about a year ago.

The accused also revealed that he had been bringing the consignment of heroin from some Nigerian living in Delhi.

The STF in-charge said the police remand of the accused would be sought from the court and more recovery of drugs could be made in further probe.
