The Punjab Sports Department will organise the district-level games at different venues in Ludhiana district from July 23 to August 8.

In a press release issued by the local office of the department, Ravinder Singh, District Sports Officer, Ludhiana, said these games for boys and girls (Under-14, Under-18 and Under-25 years) will be held under Tandarust Punjab campaign started by the state government about six months ago.

Competition in athletics, basketball, badminton, football, table tennis, hockey handball, swimming, boxing, roller skating, wrestling, kabaddi (national style), volleyball, kho-kho, gymnastics and judo disciplines will be conducted at Guru Nanak Stadium, PAU campus, leisure valley rink, Municipal Corporation pool besides Samrala and multipurpose hall opposite Guru Nanak Stadium.

Competition in the U-14 section will be held from July 23 to 25 and in the U-18 category from July 30 to August 1, while in the U-25 group from August 6 to 8.

Players born on or after January 1, 2006, can participate in the U-14 section, whereas those born on or after January 1, 2002, are eligible in the U-18 category, while players born on or after January 1, 1995 can take part in the U-25 group.

Interested players can register their entries here at Guru Nanak Stadium. They have been advised to bring their age-proof certificates, Aadhaar card and team entry approved by the school Principal or president of the club or sarpanch of the village without which no entry would be entertained.

The duly approved entries can also be e-mailed to the District Sports Officer, Ludhiana, at ludhianaturnament2019@gmail.com, the release read.
