The Himachal Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (NGO) Federation has pleaded for a ‘uniform age’ of retirement for government servants working for the Central and state government throughout the country without any bias.
Addressing mediapersons, state president of the federation NR Thakur said a deputation of the federation under his leadership would meet Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur this week and submit a 55-point demand charter including the retirement age issue.
Thakur disclosed that there was a variation in the retirement age among states. A request would be made to the CM to convene a meeting of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) since no such meet has taken place in the last one-and-a-half-year rule by the BJP-led government. Even, Congress didn’t hold any meet when it was last in power.
Lamenting over the delay in implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission report, he demanded a headway into the report at the earliest.
Thakur condemned the government move for deploying staff through outsourcing, and execution of development works through the public-private partnership (PPP).
Lauding the government’s decision of scrapping the Administrative Tribunal, he implored to set up additional benches at the HP High Court in Mandi and Dharamsala as it would help facilitating the work for employees.
