The Shahjahanpur law student, who has accused BJP leader Chinmayanand of rape and blackmail, today threatened to commit suicide if a case is not registered against the former minister or he is not arrested.

She questioned the working of the police and the SIT set up on the direction of the Supreme Court to probe her charges of rape and sexual exploitation against the BJP leader. Arriving in Allahabad, she approached the high court to draw attention to the police inaction.

“It has been two days since I recorded my statement before a magistrate in Shahjahanpur. However, no action has been taken against the accused,” the law student said. “Maybe the government wants us to end our lives and only then they will take action against Chinmayanand. Will the authorities believe me when I attempt suicide?”

The special investigation team probing her allegations had on Monday taken the woman before the magistrate to record her statement. The same day, doctors were called at Chinmayanand's home when he complained of loose motions, weakness and uneasiness. (With agency inputs)
