With the arrest of a 17-year-old boy, the Gujarat Police on Saturday claimed to have solved the murder of a Vadodara student whose body was found in a school toilet on Friday.

Mahesh, a student of the same school located in Baranpora area, had apparently followed the entire plot of a similar case in a Gurugram school last year. He told the police that he had no enmity with the Class-9 victim, Dev Tadvi, who happened to be present in the toilet when he had entered with the intention of killing someone just to ensure that the school closed down.

The reason for his wishing the school closure was equally bizarre: he was angry just because his teacher had reprimanded him a couple of days ago for not doing his homework. Taking a cue from the Gurugram school case, Mahesh knew that if some student was found murdered, the school would be closed for some days. Mahesh admitted that he had come prepared for the murder.
