New Delhi, June 28

The Congress today slammed the BJP and PM Narendra Modi for not protesting the US’ reference to “India-administered J&K” while  designating Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin as a global terrorist.

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad  said, “J&K is an integral part of India and the issue compromises India’s sovereignty.”  He asked why the Prime Minister, leader of the “only nationalistic party in India, failed to protest while being in the US when it called J&K India-administered J&K”.

He also attacked the media for going soft on the government on the issue. “The owners or media channels and papers should quit their profession if they cannot give us free and fair press. The media’s job is also to expose the government’s faults,” the Congress leader said. — TNS
